Former Arsenal academy player Chuks Aneke has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 33. The forward confirmed the decision on Instagram, finishing his career at Shrewsbury Town, the same team he faced in his sole first-team appearance for Arsenal in 2011.
Once compared to Yaya Toure by former manager Arsene Wenger, Aneke struggled to break through Arsenal's midfield depth before embarking on a career with clubs including Crewe, MK Dons, and Charlton. Over his career, he scored 94 goals in 414 matches and has transitioned into a scouting and analysis role at Shrewsbury.
