Yelich’s tribute after the Brewers’ 4-1 Game 5 victory over the Rays recalled a dramatically different postgame setting two years earlier.

Christian Yelich paid emotional tribute to the late broadcaster Bob Uecker after guiding the Milwaukee Brewers to their first World Series championship. Milwaukee clinched the historic title with a 4-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 5. Yelich celebrated on the field and dedicated the accomplishment to Uecker, who passed away in January 2025 at age 90.
Named the franchise's first captain last month, Yelich rebounded from a challenging regular season to spark Milwaukee's postseason run. His contributions included an RBI triple in Game 1 and scoring a run in the Game 5 clincher, earning congratulations from Brewers Hall of Famer Robin Yount.
