The Boston Red Sox reportedly signed a 24-year-old immediately after the Milwaukee Brewers won the World Series.

The Boston Red Sox have re-signed 24-year-old right-handed pitcher Angel Bastardo to a minor league contract for the 2027 season. The agreement, reported shortly after the Milwaukee Brewers concluded the World Series, includes an invitation to Major League Baseball spring training.
Bastardo originally signed with Boston in 2018 before being selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2024 Rule 5 Draft. After missing 2025 due to Tommy John surgery, he returned to the Red Sox organization for the 2026 campaign, where he recorded 73 strikeouts over 54.1 innings for Triple-A Worcester.
