Girard a GTD; Who’s In, Who’s Out, and Who Was Sent Down

Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Sam Girard is a game-time decision for Thursday's game against the Utah Mammoth after missing three games with a lower-body injury. Head coach Dan Muse confirmed that Ben Kindel, Evgeni Malkin, and Egor Chinakhov will return to the lineup. Kindel and Girard must formally be activated from injured reserve prior to playing.

Several roster moves accompanied the lineup changes, including forward Elmer Soderblom being placed on injured reserve due to an upper-body injury. Avery Hayes and defenseman Chase Pietila were returned to the AHL's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, Justin Brazeau was sent down on a conditioning assignment, and Rutger McGroarty remains on the NHL roster.
