Former Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo has admitted that he wishes he had remained with Red Bull Racing instead of leaving for Renault at the end of the 2018 season. Speaking on the Beyond The Grid podcast, the Australian stated that departing the team cost him what was likely his best opportunity to compete for a World Championship.
Following Ricciardo's departure, former teammate Max Verstappen secured four consecutive titles, while Ricciardo won just one more race with McLaren before his Formula 1 career concluded in 2024. Although he maintained that he felt complacent at the time, Ricciardo acknowledged curiosity and regret regarding how his career would have progressed had he stayed.
