Meleek Thomas followed his impressive NBA debut with another opportunity against Washington, strengthening his case for a regular Cavaliers rotation role.

Writer Creshonda Smith argues that Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson should regularly include rookie guard Meleek Thomas in the team's rotation. Selected 34th overall, Thomas followed an impressive 16-point debut against Minnesota by earning playing time during Cleveland's 121-111 victory over the Washington Wizards.
According to Smith, Thomas offers valuable shot creation alongside stars Donovan Mitchell and James Harden, easing their offensive workload. Both Mitchell and Atkinson have praised the rookie's contributions, leading Smith to conclude Atkinson should utilize Thomas consistently rather than solely as an emergency option.
