The Astros have declined a $5MM club option on right-hander Ryan Weiss, reports Jesse Rogers of ESPN. Weiss will collect a $500K buyout as he returns to free agency. More to come.

The Houston Astros have declined their $5 million club option on right-handed pitcher Ryan Weiss for the 2027 season, according to Jesse Rogers of ESPN. Weiss will instead receive a $500,000 buyout and enter free agency after a difficult 2026 campaign.
Houston initially signed Weiss following two successful seasons in South Korea with the Hanwha Eagles. However, Weiss struggled in North America, recording a 7.62 ERA across nine appearances before being designated for assignment in June.
