If you are a full-back for New Zealand and comparisons to Christian Cullen are being made, then there may not be a higher compliment.

Twenty-year-old fullback Braxton Sorensen-McGee is continuing her rapid rise with the Black Ferns as New Zealand prepares for their final match of the 2026 season against France in Christchurch. Having starred at the 2025 Women's Rugby World Cup as top try scorer, Sorensen-McGee has added goalkicking duties to her repertoire, leading the WXV scoring charts with 42 points.
Sorensen-McGee credited Blues coach Willie Walker for refining her kicking technique and praised Black Ferns head coach Whitney Hansen, who is targeting a 10th win in 11 Tests. The team's only defeat this year came against England at Allianz Stadium.
