Minnesota blitzed Indianapolis 85% of the time Sunday, as they redefine what a 'normal' pass rush can be in the NFL.

Defensive coordinator Brian Flores has driven the Minnesota Vikings to an unprecedented 69.9% blitz rate this season, propelling the 6-0 team to the top of several NFL defensive metrics. In their 16-10 victory over the Indianapolis Colts at U.S. Bank Stadium, the Vikings sent five or more rushers on 85.3% of opponent dropbacks, marking the second-highest single-game rate in the past 20 years.
Minnesota leads the NFL in points allowed per game at 12.3 and sacks with 21, despite having had a bye week. Head coach Kevin O'Connell and safety Harrison Smith highlighted the unit's continuity and ability to create favorable long-yardage downs, as the defense prepares to test its aggressive scheme against the 4-2 Detroit Lions at Ford Field.
