Sergio Perez says Cadillac faces a difficult decision over whether his 2027 team mate should be Valtteri Bottas or Colton Herta.

Sergio Perez stated that Cadillac faces a difficult choice between Valtteri Bottas and Colton Herta for the team's 2027 Formula 1 seat. While Perez recently secured a contract extension keeping him with the team through 2029, Cadillac has yet to confirm whether Bottas will be retained beyond the current season. Team principal Marcin Budkowski will ultimately decide the driver lineup based on data and future team requirements.
Bottas has earned Cadillac's top finish this season in 13th place, though Perez holds a 10-8 qualifying advantage. Meanwhile, test driver Herta sits 19th in the Formula 2 standings but continues to gain experience through practice sessions and simulator work. Perez praised both drivers, noting Bottas's misfortune and strong pace alongside Herta's valuable technical feedback.
