Fraser McReight believes he can still “get a lot better” after becoming the first Queensland Reds player in 20 years to win the prestigious John Eales Medal.

Queensland Reds flanker Fraser McReight stated he can still get a lot better after winning the prestigious John Eales Medal at the Rugby Australia Awards. Presented by John Eales on Thursday evening, the honor recognizes the Wallabies' best and fairest player over the past 12 months. McReight edged out fellow nominees Jeremy Williams and Rob Valetini to claim the honor.
McReight became the 15th Wallaby to win the medal and the first Queensland Reds player to receive it since Chris Latham in 2006. Earlier in the evening, McReight was also named Defender of the Year following a try-saving tackle against France, capping an impressive international campaign that included standout performances against England and across the July Nations Championship.
