While some may believe Jeremiah Wright could nudge the New Orleans Saints to trade Cesar Ruiz, it actually could be the exact opposite…

The New Orleans Saints may decide against trading offensive lineman Cesar Ruiz ahead of the trade deadline in order to give backup Jeremiah Wright more time to develop. Writer Darrion Gray notes that while ESPN analysts Jeremy Fowler and Matt Bowen gave Ruiz a 25 percent chance of being moved, the team could prioritize stability on the offensive line rather than rushing Wright into a starting role.
Wright previously started in place of Ruiz against the New York Giants in Paris, but Gray argues his performance showed he is not quite ready to permanently take over. Consequently, keeping Ruiz on the roster would allow head coach Kellen Moore and the coaching staff to develop Wright behind a proven veteran pass protector.
