The Chiefs are still going with their guy at kicker.

Chiefs special teams coordinator Dave Toub confirmed that Harrison Butker remains the team's primary kicker despite the signing of Justin Tucker to the practice squad. Toub emphasized that Kansas City brought in competition to help improve Butker, who has missed five of 16 field goal attempts this season. Butker is expected to start in the upcoming Week 8 game against the Denver Broncos.
The Chiefs' acquisition of the 36-year-old Tucker drew controversy following his prior suspension and release by the Baltimore Ravens over sexual misconduct allegations. Head coach Andy Reid stated that he did homework before signing Tucker to the practice squad, while Toub noted Butker responded well in practice by converting all 10 kicks in windy conditions.
