The Mets announced they’ve claimed infielder/outfielder Kyren Paris off waivers from the Angels. New York also designated outfielder Cristian Pache for assignment. More to come.
The New York Mets announced that they have claimed utility player Kyren Paris off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels. In a corresponding roster move, the Mets designated outfielder Cristian Pache for assignment. Paris, a former second-round draft pick who turns 25 next month, has spent parts of four seasons in Major League Baseball and is out of minor league options.
Paris produced a .274/.384/.458 batting line with 13 home runs and 24 stolen bases between Double-A and Triple-A this season, though he holds a career .147 average in MLB. Pache is expected to clear waivers and seek minor league free agency. New York faces additional 40-man roster decisions ahead of activating multiple players from the 60-day injured list.
