The Story in 60 Seconds

Internazionale and AC Milan have officially unveiled plans for the Generali Stadium, a new shared 71,500-seat venue set to replace the iconic San Siro. The project is projected to cost €1.2 billion, with construction scheduled to begin in 2028 on the existing stadium's site and open in time for the 2031-32 season.

Designed by architects Norman Foster and David Manica, the steep-sided ground aims to keep fans close to the pitch while accommodating NFL games, rugby, and concerts. The current Giuseppe Meazza Stadium will be largely demolished, sparking protests from Inter supporters during the unveiling event at Milan's Castello Sforzesco.
