The Boston Bruins suffered their second straight defeat in a 4-1 loss to Jim Montgomery's St. Louis Blues on Thursday night at Enterprise Center. James Hagens opened the scoring for Boston, but the Blues responded with four unanswered goals, fueled by three points each from Robert Thomas and Philip Broberg, alongside 31 saves from goaltender Joel Hofer.
Bruins coach Marco Sturm labeled the team's first 40 minutes as unacceptable, citing poor special teams, missed defensive assignments, and costly line changes. Boston went 0-for-2 on the power play while allowing two power-play goals, concluding their road trip winless before returning home to face the Chicago Blackhawks.
