India captain Shreyas Iyer set a new record among Full Member T20I captains by winning 19 tosses across his first 25 matches in charge. He achieved the milestone ahead of the fourth T20I against New Zealand at Eden Park in Auckland on Friday, October 30, where he elected to bowl first. Iyer surpassed Daren Sammy and Salman Ali Agha, who each won 17 tosses in their first 25 matches.
India entered the match with an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series but made two lineup changes. Ishan Kishan replaced Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, and Mayank Yadav came in for Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Despite holding an unbeatable lead, Iyer emphasized that the squad must remain ruthless and maintain an aggressive approach.
