Chelsea could dip into the transfer market to replace Reece James in January after the England international underwent surgery on a knee injury…

Chelsea are reportedly prepared to offer Real Madrid defender Trent Alexander-Arnold a permanent exit route back to the Premier League in January. Former Manchester United scout Mick Brown claimed the Blues are monitoring the 28-year-old, who has started only four matches this season after falling down the pecking order under manager Jose Mourinho.
The potential move comes as Chelsea captain Reece James faces an extended spell on the sidelines until at least mid-January following knee surgery. Manager Xabi Alonso, who previously coached Alexander-Arnold in Madrid, could consider the England international to reinforce Chelsea's squad alongside current deputy Malo Gusto.
