SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- You can’t keep Arjun Nimmala down for long, especially in an Angels uniform. MLB Pipeline's No. 34 overall prospect went 5-for-7 with a homer, a double, three runs scored, two RBIs and a stolen base on Thursday…
Angels prospect Arjun Nimmala snapped a recent slump by going 5-for-7 with a home run, a double, two RBIs, and a stolen base on Thursday. His offensive outburst powered the Mesa Solar Sox to a 21-5 rout over Salt River at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Arizona Fall League action.
Nimmala's five hits tied the league's single-game season high and raised his AFL OPS to .980, effectively ending a 2-for-24 cold streak. The 21-year-old shortstop, acquired by Los Angeles from Toronto in August, produced five batted balls with exit velocities exceeding 94.8 mph during the contest.
