Former Kilmarnock defender Manuel Pascali revealed that playing Rangers at Ibrox in August 2008 was the moment he realized he had fulfilled his professional dream. Speaking on The Table podcast, the Italian recalled entering the match with Kilmarnock tied at the top of the table. Pascali explained he was blown away and smiled with awe rather than intimidation when walking out into the packed stadium atmosphere.
During the match, Pascali played in defense against Rangers forward Nacho Novo. Kilmarnock initially held a 1-0 lead before Pascali conceded a penalty to Novo. Rangers forward Kris Boyd then scored two goals as Walter Smith's side came from behind to defeat Kilmarnock 2-1, but Pascali described the experience as an unforgettable career milestone.
