Bruins’ David Pastrnak drops blunt quote after two disappointing losses on road trip

Boston Bruins star David Pastrnak offered a blunt assessment after consecutive road losses to the Carolina Hurricanes and St. Louis Blues. Boston suffered a 2-1 defeat against Carolina followed by a 4-1 loss to St. Louis, being outscored 6-2 combined. Pastrnak stated that the team failed to play to their standard and emphasized the need to move on and refocus ahead of their upcoming Saturday matchup against the Chicago Blackhawks.

The writer notes that defensive breakdowns and sloppy play in their own end contributed heavily to Boston's struggles on the trip, allowing easy goals past goaltender Jeremy Swayman. The back-to-back defeats narrowed the Bruins' lead atop the Atlantic Division after their strong 9-2-1 start to the campaign.
