The Islanders' early-season glut of injuries took another victim on Thursday.

New York Islanders defenseman Ryan Pulock suffered an upper-body injury and exited Thursday's 4-3 overtime win against the Minnesota Wild after playing only 51 seconds. Coach Pete DeBoer had no immediate postgame update, but the Islanders reportedly expect Pulock to miss at least a game or two, beginning with Saturday's contest against the Edmonton Oilers.
Pulock's exit leaves the Islanders with further depth concerns on their blue line, with Matt Kessel viewed as the likely replacement. The injury adds to an extensive list of early-season absences for New York, which already includes Alexander Romanov, Mat Barzal, Calum Ritchie, and Matias Maccelli.
