Following the conclusion of the 2026 World Series, the San Diego Padres are entering the offseason with key awards contenders and impending free agency decisions. Freddy Fermin and Ty France stand as Gold Glove finalists, while Mason Miller is considered a leading candidate for the BBWAA Reliever of the Year Award. Manager Craig Stammen also presents a case for Manager of the Year consideration after leading San Diego to 90 wins in his debut season.
Free agency roster moves are underway as nine Padres officially hit the market, including France and Adrian Morejon, alongside Michael King opting out of his contract. San Diego faces crucial decisions ahead of Monday's quiet period conclusion regarding option deadlines and potential qualifying offers, with Morejon viewed as a prime candidate for a one-year, $23.15 million offer.
