Jimmy Anderson has expressed shock and sadness following Lancashire's decision not to renew his county contract after 26 years with the club. Speaking on the BBC's Tailenders podcast, the 44-year-old former England fast bowler revealed he expected a constructive discussion about the squad's future, only to be told Lancashire intended to move forward without him.
Anderson captained the team during a difficult County Championship Division Two campaign, though he personally claimed 50 wickets at an average of 17. While disappointed by how his tenure ended, Anderson remains undecided about whether he will continue playing cricket elsewhere or pursue opportunities outside the sport.
