McCovey Chronicles opened community voting for the No. 2 spot on the 2027 Willie McCovey Memorial Community Prospect List following Josuar González's selection as the San Francisco Giants' top prospect. Six candidates were nominated for the second position: Jacob Bresnahan, Bo Davidson, Jackson Flora, Luis Hernández, Jhonny Level, and Ramon Marquez.

González unanimously claimed the top spot following an impressive 2026 campaign between the Arizona Complex League and Low-A San Jose. The 19-year-old shortstop batted .357 with a 1.010 OPS in 31 games with San Jose while registering 21 stolen bases and demonstrating elite defensive ability across both minor league levels.
