Designated hitter Joc Pederson is back on the open market. Jesse Rogers of ESPN reports that Pederson has declined his end of a mutual option with the Rangers. He is now a free agent. More to come.

Designated hitter Joc Pederson has declined his portion of an $18.5 million mutual option with the Texas Rangers, according to Jesse Rogers of ESPN. The decision sends the veteran slugger back to the open market as a free agent.
Pederson completed a strong campaign in Arlington, hitting 26 home runs and batting .245/.338/.496 against right-handed pitching across 396 plate appearances. His contract option featured no buyout, and the Rangers also face pending mutual option decisions on Kyle Higashioka and Jakob Junis.
