The Boston Celtics are still pointing toward the future, and made two decisions on young players Friday just before a key deadline.

The Boston Celtics exercised the team contract options for Hugo Gonzalez and Baylor Scheierman ahead of the October 31 NBA deadline. According to Keith Smith of Spotrac, the Celtics picked up the 2027-28 rookie-scale team options for both players, exercising Scheierman's fourth-year option and Gonzalez's third-year option.
The roster moves lock Scheierman into a $5 million salary next season, while Gonzalez is set to earn $3 million. Both young wings have experienced slow starts to the current season while competing for rotation spots alongside Jordan Walsh and Ron Harper Jr.
