Caleb Durbin has already undergone his second surgery of the offseason to fix a foot injury he played through during his first season with the Boston Red Sox.

Boston Red Sox third baseman Caleb Durbin underwent his second surgery of the offseason on October 29 to address a foot issue. The procedure involved a partial excision of the fifth metatarsal base with tendon repair on his pinky toe, an ailment he managed throughout the season. Durbin had already undergone surgery earlier in October to repair a subluxated pinky finger that he played through during the campaign.
Red Sox chief baseball officer Craig Breslow confirmed the team was aware of Durbin's foot condition and managed his symptoms as the infielder insisted on playing. Over 153 games, Durbin hit .248 with 13 home runs while providing standout defense. Katie Manganelli of BoSox Injection writes that Durbin's determination to battle through multiple injuries has solidified his standing as a fan favorite in Boston.
