Tampa Bay Lightning superstar winger Nikita Kucherov has reportedly informed the franchise that he will not re-sign ahead of free agency next summer and is seeking a trade. According to Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman, the 33-year-old forward hopes to move on during the final season of his eight-year, $9.5 million average annual value contract.
Kucherov holds a modified no-trade clause featuring a 10-team approved trade list, according to PuckPedia. The two-time Stanley Cup champion and reigning Hart Trophy winner recently became Tampa Bay's all-time franchise leader in points and assists, recording 15 points in his first 12 games of the season.
