An Australian star has withdrawn from the Kangaroos' third World Cup match.

Australian Kangaroos forward Cameron Murray has been ruled out of the Rugby League World Cup match against the Cook Islands on the day of kickoff. The late withdrawal deals a blow to Australia ahead of their third fixture of the tournament.
The Kangaroos are scheduled to face the Cook Islands at Queensland Country Bank Stadium on October 31, 2026. Murray's absence requires a reshuffle to the lineup just hours before the contest.
