The suspension adds to the Senators' growing manpower problems up front as they continue their five-game road trip in California this weekend.

Ottawa Senators forward Hayden Hodgson has received a two-game suspension for a hit on Los Angeles Kings defenseman Brandt Clarke. The incident took place during Thursday's 6-5 overtime loss, when Hodgson delivered a check from behind that drove Clarke into the boards. Hodgson was assessed a five-minute boarding major and a game misconduct, while Clarke exited the contest due to an upper-body injury.
The disciplinary action compounds growing personnel issues for Ottawa during their California road trip. With forwards Warren Foegele, Andre Burakovsky, and William Eklund sidelined by injuries, general manager Steve Staios recalled Philip Tomasino and Xavier Bourgault from the AHL's Belleville Senators ahead of Saturday's matchup against the San Jose Sharks.
