Banana Ball held its 2027 player draft on October 28 at Historic Grayson Stadium in Savannah, selecting 39 players across six teams. Among the drafted players were two former Colorado Rockies: 12-year MLB veteran Charlie Culberson, chosen by the Savannah Bananas in the fifth round, and pitcher Brendan Hardy, drafted by the Firefighters. The draft follows the conclusion of the 2026 MLB season as Banana Ball prepares for its upcoming World Tour.
The league's seven-month, 75-city tour begins in February and features two games scheduled at Coors Field on May 29 and 30, 2027. The draft also introduced an inaugural Entertainment round, which included tenor singer John Reisen and fire dancer Kaleikaumaka Grebin, while five Women's Professional Baseball League players, including Mo'ne Davis and Ashton Lansdell, re-signed with their respective Banana Ball teams.
