Chelsea defender Maxence Lacroix is reportedly expected to miss around ten games due to a serious hamstring injury. The defender suffered the injury during Chelsea's midweek Carabao Cup loss on penalties against Liverpool. According to BBC Sport, the France international is not expected to return until the New Year.
The absence poses a significant challenge for Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso during the busy winter period. Alonso will have to reshuffle his preferred three-man defensive system, relying on options such as Wesley Fofana, Levi Colwill, and Josh Acheampong.
