The Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs have reportedly offered Day 3 draft compensation to the Indianapolis Colts for wide receiver Josh Downs. The 25-year-old requested a trade following Indianapolis's 2–5 start and front-office shakeup, with a deal expected after the upcoming weekend. The Colts initially sought a third-round selection but are now likely to receive a fourth- or fifth-round pick in a permanent trade.
The potential move comes amid a roster tear-down under Colts interim general manager Ed Dodds following the firing of GM Chris Ballard. Indianapolis has already traded guard Quenton Nelson to Seattle and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner to San Francisco. Both Pittsburgh and Kansas City are seeking receiver reinforcements ahead of the November 10 trade deadline, with Downs expected to command interest from both AFC contenders.
