JR Motorsports announced that 16-year-old development driver Tristan McKee will join the organization starting in 2027. McKee is scheduled to pilot the No. 9 Chevrolet, making his debut with the team at the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway on August 13, 2027.

McKee will initially compete on a part-time basis through the conclusion of the 2027 season and into 2028 under NASCAR rules. He will subsequently become eligible to compete full-time for JR Motorsports in the series beginning in 2029.
