quarterback Baker Mayfield and his former head coach, Kevin Stefanski. But the two’s relationship, or lack thereof, was truly brought to light by Mayfield this week.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield revealed on Thursday that he has not spoken to former head coach Kevin Stefanski since 2021. The Buccaneers are scheduled to host Stefanski and the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday at Raymond James Stadium, marking Mayfield's first start against his former Cleveland Browns coach as a member of Tampa Bay.
The relationship deteriorated after Cleveland traded Mayfield to the Carolina Panthers in 2022 following the acquisition of Deshaun Watson. Tampa Bay enters Sunday's NFC South divisional matchup with a 2-5 record, sitting one game behind Atlanta following a 43-13 victory over Carolina last week.
