Black Ferns powerhouse Kaipo Olsen-Baker has been crowned World Rugby Player of the Year, receiving the award following the final whistle of the Black Ferns' showdown against France in Christchurch.

New Zealand Black Ferns forward Kaipo Olsen-Baker has been named the World Rugby Player of the Year. The 24-year-old received the honor following the Black Ferns' 36-7 victory over France in Christchurch. Olsen-Baker was sidelined for the match due to an ankle injury sustained the previous week but joined her teammates for the post-game ceremony.
The award marked a milestone in Olsen-Baker's international career, which began with her Test debut in 2022. Fellow Black Fern Elinor-Plum King also claimed a top prize at the ceremony as New Zealand concluded their 2026 campaign with 10 wins under head coach Whitney Hansen.
