Los Angeles Kings defenseman Brandt Clarke suffered an upper-body injury during his team's overtime victory against the Ottawa Senators. Clarke exited in the second period after Hayden Hodgson struck him with an elbow to the head, sending him into the corner boards. Hodgson received a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct, while head coach Peter Laviolette had no postgame injury update.
Clarke's absence adds to significant injury troubles for the Kings, who already have forwards Mats Zuccarello, Alex Turcotte, and Kevin Fiala on injured reserve. Clarke ranks second on the team in scoring with nine points across 12 games as Los Angeles sits at 4-6-2 this season.
