The FIA have confirmed a huge 50-place grid penalty for Cadillac star Valtteri Bottas ahead of Sunday's Mexican Grand Prix.

The FIA has confirmed a 50-place grid penalty for Cadillac driver Valtteri Bottas ahead of the Mexican Grand Prix. New components were fitted to his Ferrari power unit ahead of Friday's first practice session in Mexico City, leading to him exceeding the season's allocation for five separate engine components.
Bottas received a 10-place penalty for each exceeded component under Article B8.2.2 of the FIA regulations. The setback occurs amid mounting pressure regarding his Cadillac seat for 2027, as team principal Marcin Budkowski recently refused to confirm his future while American driver Colton Herta closes in on a Super License.
