The 2026-27 National Hockey League season is already off to a wild start. A handful of superstars have already asked for a trade this season, like Connor Hellebuyck and Dylan Larkin. But on Friday evening, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported that…

Nikita Kucherov has reportedly told the Tampa Bay Lightning that he will not re-sign and has requested a trade, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman. The 33-year-old superstar winger is currently in the final season of an eight-year contract with a $9.5 million cap hit and holds a 10-team trade list. However, Tampa Bay Lightning general manager Julien BriseBois stated that the club has no intention of trading Kucherov.
Elsewhere in the NHL, the Anaheim Ducks placed 36-year-old defenseman Nick Jensen on waivers on Saturday. Jensen, who has recorded two points in three games this season, is in the first season of a two-year contract carrying a $2.25 million cap hit.
