RICHARD GIBSON: Sat in the corner of Edgbaston's home dressing room, Jacob Bethell is reflecting on an imminent return to the scene of what is arguably his most impressive innings to date.

England all-rounder Jacob Bethell has opened up on his three-month injury layoff and his focus on reclaiming the Ashes. Bethell underwent keyhole knee surgery after suffering a chondral defect, having initially aggravated the joint during a midsummer white-ball match against India. He utilized blood flow restriction training during his rehabilitation, which added two centimeters to the circumference of his thighs before returning for England's upcoming tour of Australia.
The 23-year-old expressed his adaptability regarding England's batting order ahead of the first one-day international in Perth on November 13. Looking further ahead, Bethell stated that regaining the Ashes from Australia remains his top ambition as he prepares to work with incoming coach Stephen Fleming.
