Sunderland were beaten 3-1 by Coventry City on Saturday as their Premier League struggles continue…

Sunderland manager Régis Le Bris confirmed that midfielder Habib Diarra has sustained a new muscle injury during training. Diarra was left out of the squad for Saturday's 3-1 Premier League defeat to Coventry City, leaving the club uncertain about the severity of the issue ahead of upcoming matches against Dinamo Zagreb and Chelsea.
Le Bris also provided an update on defender Nordi Mukiele, who missed the Coventry match while under concussion protocol following a prior draw against Leeds United. Mukiele is ruled out of Thursday's Europa League fixture but is expected to return to face Chelsea. Additionally, Omar Alderete will miss the Chelsea match through suspension after receiving two yellow cards.
