The Tampa Bay Rays have finalized Yandy Diaz's contract for the 2027 season, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. Diaz had a $10 million club option that converted into a guaranteed $13 million deal after surpassing 500 plate appearances and finishing the season healthy. The move ensures the 35-year-old designated hitter will remain under contract following another productive campaign.
During the season, Diaz batted .293 with 22 home runs and led the American League with 180 hits. He also played a key role during the Rays' postseason run to the World Series, including hitting a crucial two-run home run in Game 6 of the ALCS against the Cleveland Guardians.
