Dana Brown returns to the Braves after rocky tenure as Astros GM

Former Houston Astros general manager Dana Brown is returning to the Atlanta Braves as a Senior Advisor in Amateur Scouting, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today. Brown previously served as Atlanta's Vice President of Scouting from 2019 to 2022 before taking the Astros' general manager position in January 2023. Brown and Houston mutually agreed to part ways in August.

During his time in Houston, the Astros won two AL West titles but did not return to the World Series. Brown's departure followed the exits of stars Alex Bregman and Kyle Tucker alongside mixed results on major player investments. Brown now rejoins Braves general manager Alex Anthopoulos to support Atlanta's scouting efforts.
