Despite some small fires appearing here and there, we're off to our best start in the post-Karlsson era.
The Ottawa Senators completed October 2026 with a 9-5-1 record across 15 games, securing third place in the Atlantic Division. Writer Shaan Malik highlights that the team achieved its best start to a season in years despite dealing with an injured Brady Tkachuk and enduring major struggles on the power play, which converted at just 12.9% and surrendered four shorthanded goals.
Malik named goaltender Linus Ullmark the team's first star of the month following a 7-1-0 record and a .945 save percentage. Forward Tim Stützle was selected as the second star after recording 21 points in 15 games, while Drake Batherson earned third star honors with 17 points and nine goals.
