The Chargers have placed safety Derwin James Jr. on injured reserve because of a hamstring injury.

The Los Angeles Chargers placed Pro Bowl safety Derwin James Jr. on injured reserve Saturday due to a hamstring injury. Head coach Jim Harbaugh previously confirmed that James suffered a setback during his rehab, and the move requires the safety to sit out a minimum of four games starting with Sunday's contest against the Los Angeles Rams.
In corresponding roster moves, the Chargers signed cornerback Isas Waxter to the active roster and elevated cornerback Kaiir Elam from the practice squad. Left guard Kayode Awosika, defensive back Deane Leonard, and wide receiver Brenen Thompson were also ruled out for the game.
