Lindy Ruff praises the team effort after Tage Thompson defended Peyton Krebs late in the win over the LA Kings.

Buffalo Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff supported Tage Thompson after the forward received a late roughing penalty during a 3-2 road win against the Los Angeles Kings. With about three and a half minutes left, Thompson dropped his gloves to defend teammate Peyton Krebs following a hit from Joel Edmundson. Ruff noted that while timing was risky, Thompson was looking after his teammate.
The penalty forced the Sabres to defend against a late 6-on-4 power play after Los Angeles pulled their goaltender. Despite entering the game with a league-low 67.4% penalty kill rate, Buffalo successfully closed out the game to secure their third consecutive road victory.
