JSerra rolls into CIF-SS Open Division flag football final with 55th straight win

Top-seeded JSerra advanced to the CIF Southern Section Open Division flag football final after defeating Huntington Beach 34-6 on Saturday. Quarterback Kate Meier threw five touchdown passes to bring her season total to 95, guiding the Lions to their 55th consecutive victory. JSerra will now face second-seeded Newport Harbor on November 7 as they look to secure their second straight championship title.

JSerra's defense intercepted Oilers quarterback Roxie Shaia six times, with two interceptions each from Avery Olson and Abby Vanderweerd, alongside one each from Anna Paquette and Sterling Flores. Olson also contributed two touchdown catches, while Tessa Russell and Kayla Fernandez also caught scores. Head coach Brian Ong praised defensive coordinator Brian Russell for the team's strong defensive performance.
