Well, the Garrett Wilson-to-49ers hope that a (very) few of you have can come to an end. Adam Schefter reported Saturday that a well-placed source said there’s “no way” the Jets trade Garrett Wilson: Maybe it’s surprising to some that…

According to a report cited from Adam Schefter, a well-placed source stated there is no way the New York Jets will trade wide receiver Garrett Wilson. Writer Patrick Holloway of Niners Nation analyzed the report, arguing that a hypothetical move for Wilson was never a practical fit for the San Francisco 49ers.
Holloway writes that acquiring Wilson makes little sense for San Francisco due to his future salary cap impact, which climbs past $35 million in 2028. Additionally, the writer highlights the return of injured receivers Deebo Samuel and Mike Evans, and notes Wilson would lack chemistry with quarterback Brock Purdy.
