Sheffield Wednesday’s list of player absences is growing.

Sheffield Wednesday caretaker manager Matt Hamshaw has provided injury updates on Billy Mitchell, Ali Al-Hamadi, and Reece James following their Sunday draw with Blackpool. Hamshaw revealed that Mitchell faces one to two weeks on the sidelines, Al-Hamadi could be out for several weeks, and James may miss four to six weeks due to a groin injury confirmed by a scan.
The growing list of absences comes as defender Sil Swinkels faces a three-match suspension following a first-half red card against Blackpool. The match finished in a 1-1 draw after David Keillor-Dunn's opener was cancelled out by Jerry Yates, marking Hamshaw's final game before incoming manager Dave Challinor takes charge.
